Sheena Penfold is the Children’s Co-ordinator for WFDA. She is a Level 5 qualified dyslexia teacher and has a degree in Early Childhood Studies. Sheena also tutors literacy classes for WFDA. Which she very much enjoys.

Sheena is dyslexic herself and grew up in an era where this was not recognised. School was a struggle and learning difficult. Sheena credits her determined nature to her dyslexia. She has a will to do well and achieve, even though there were many obstacles making this a challenge whilst at school. Sheena was a mature university student and graduated whilst her children were still in school.

Sheena has been involved with WFDA since 2011 and tutoring literacy for them since 2016. Sheena has first-hand experience of how impactful WFDA Classes are. They provide a community, helping students and their families to realise that they are not alone. They help young people to understand that, with the right support and guidance they can achieve success. Sheena enjoys meeting the families that support WFDA’s children’s services and recognises that they are what helps to make it the wonderful, supportive charity that it is.
