Waltham Forest Dyslexia Association (WFDA) has been delivering dyslexia support to young people and adults since 1989. We work across the London Borough of Waltham Forest and the surrounding North East London boroughs.

WFDA is a small charity overseen by a Board of Trustees. Our services are run by carefully vetted freelance dyslexia tutors and we employ one part-time member of staff (school term time only). Several volunteers work ad hoc.

Although we are affiliated to the British Dyslexia Association, we receive no funding from them, so any money we need to provide our services is generated by grants, membership subscriptions, fundraising and by parental contributions at our classes.

To keep costs down we do not run an office, instead our staff and volunteers work from their homes. Please respect this and contact them within the times stated and be patient if we do not get back to you straight away as we are stretched to capacity.

Our Vision.

WFDA is committed to sending out a lifeline to people with dyslexia who often have nowhere else to turn. Our vision is that we will live in a dyslexic friendly society that enables dyslexic people of all ages to reach their full potential.

Our Aim.

To support the needs of dyslexic children, young people and adults by providing an accessible, affordable, quality service run by appropriately trained staff. Also to advance the education of dyslexic people of all ages to help them to improve their confidence, independence and well-being.
